– How to be seen on the National Play Tennis Website! (make it easier for casual players to find your venue)

If you’re not using ClubSpark as your court booking system, head to this support article here.

Make sure you’ve ticked all the questions below to have your club displayed on Play Tennis, Hire a Court or Find a Coach | Tennis Australia and
have thousands of potential casual players found your venue online!

Note:

The order of the listings is determined roughly by the venue’s distance from the center of the postcode. We do not have control over how the maps function determines the centre of the postcode. Suburbs and postcodes cover areas that are all kinds of shapes (rarely circular) so sometimes this results in unexpected ordering.

1.    Is your location correctly set up?

In the Profile module: make sure that that the latitude and longitude is correct. You can find this in Google Maps. Otherwise, players looking for a court near in your area may not find you.

2.    Have you opened your Booking Sheet to the public (Everyone)

In Booking / Configuration, make sure you’ve ticked Everyone to allow anyone to access your booking sheets and hire one of your courts.

In your booking sheet: You must have courts available for non-members. To see if that’s the case, check your booking sheet (when viewing the sheet, make sure you’re set up as: “View as Guest”) and make sure there are courts available to book! If that’s not the case, double-check your booking settings, your schedules and/or your calendar.

3.    Have you set up your booking duration correctly, so your club appears as often as possible?

How to set up your Booking Settings for casual players:

Booking Settings for Everyone (default) How long are casual players allowed to play
on your court at minimum?
How long do you allow your members/staff/coach to be
on your court at minimum?
Booking slot duration = 60min

Minimum booking slots per booking = 1

1h 1h
Booking slot duration = 30min

Minimum booking slots per booking = 1

30min 30min
Booking slot duration = 30min

Minimum booking slots per booking = 2

1h  30min

In Booking Settings:
To appear on the National Play Tennis Website, you must make your courts available for at most one hour. So double check that the Booking slot duration is set to 30min or 1 hour. Ideally, if you allow court bookings for one hour, set the booking slot duration to 60min and minimum booking slots per booking to 1.

Some of the cases where you might want to set up the booking slot to 30min and minimum booking slots per booking to 2 are if you want the casual player to access the courts for one hour at least and some of your regular users (like coaches, staff or members) are able to access the courts for 30 min.

4.    Has your CDO/TDO selected “Publish on Play Tennis”?

In Profile module: Make sure that your Club Development Officer has ticked the “Publish on the Play.Tennis core website” option.

5.    Still not appearing?

In Home module: If you’re still not appearing on the National Play Tennis Website, reach out to your CDO or customer support
