We are excited to announce an update to Match Centre with our partner Universal Tennis Rating (UTR), which will be released 4 February 2021.
All eligible Match Centre player profiles will now display, in addition to the domestic Tennis Australia rating, an official global UTR for singles and doubles.
Players will be able to view their own and other players base UTR for singles and doubles via Match Centre, with the ability to view detailed UTR information, stats and performance insights by clicking ‘View MyUTR profile’ on the player dashboard. Please note, in order to view detailed UTR insights, you must activate or create a player profile on UTR. More information on creating a UTR profile can be found HERE.
What is UTR
Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) is an international tennis rating system that connects millions of tennis players around the world to help them find better matches locally. UTR reflects a player’s current skill level based on head-to-head match scores, and rates all players across age, gender and nationality on the same 16-point scale.
Tennis Australia has partnered with UTR to provide Australian players with a global tennis rating.

What results from Match Centre count towards your UTR?
Match Centre results will count towards your UTR provided that all participants in the match are 15 years or older, or for younger players, they have provided the appropriate consent. If an individual is under 15 and doesn’t have the appropriate consent, this match will not count towards any of the players UTR.
No UTR displaying on your Match Centre profile?
In some instances, player profiles on Match Centre may not have a UTR for singles and/or doubles. This may be due to matches you or your opponent have competed in were not eligible to be sent to UTR. Keeping your Match Centre profile up to date will provide UTR the best opportunity to provide most accurate singles and doubles global rating. Please ensure that you:
- Check for, and request to merge, any duplicate player profiles in Match Centre to ensure your match history is as accurate as possible https://support.tennis.com.au/articles/missing-match-records-linking-a-duplicate-profile/
- Review that your Tennis Account information is up to date and all your details correct
